Winnat Pass - Derbyshire Peak District
Winnats Pass, also referred to as Winnats on certain Ordnance Survey maps, is an impressive hill pass and limestone gorge nestled within the breathtaking Peak District of Derbyshire, England. The name "Winnats" itself is derived from 'wind gates' to capture the essence of the winds that elegantly dance through the pass.
Located to the west of the picturesque village of Castleton, this natural wonder graces the National Trust's esteemed High Peak Estate, situated in the charming High Peak borough of Derbyshire. The meandering road ventures through a distinct cleft, enveloped by towering limestone ridges that add a dramatic touch to the landscape.
