A pastel painting of one of my images by Julie Hazlewood

Pastel Painting by Julie Hazlewood

What a nice surprise when Julie Hazlewood (hazlewoodjulie at yahoo .com) messaged me on Pixabay saying she had just done a pastel painting of one of my images and did I want to see it. I was so flattered that Julie liked my image enough to inspire her to use it as the subject of her painting, who wouldn’t be!

Julie has recently got back into painting and pastels are very new to her but she is really enjoying it.

I was over the moon when Julie emailed a picture of her painting to me via her phone. What a superb job she has made and what a talent, I’m sure you will all agree!

I love how artists like Julie can take an image or see a scene, then add to the scene and improve it using artistic licence and a great deal of talent. The painting really shows the beautiful low Autumn light and colours of my photograph but with a lovely warmth to the pastel colours and very clean and uncluttered view of what I was seeing through my lens that Autumn morning near the valley of desolation on the Bolton Abbey estate in Yorkshire, England.

Thank you so much for getting in touch Julie and allowing me to create this post using your image. You made my day, you are a real Artist.

Any comments below, please direct at Julie and she will see them …
