Thank you so much dear Michal….😊
  • So pleased our Honeysuckle has started to bloom …thought it was done for during last summer’s drought…used a low contrast b&w filter due to the soft focus….😊

This image is slightly spoiled by early morning shadows but what a beautful place to live looking out over Runswick Bay in Yorkshire.
  • Haven’t been out for macros for some time now, but as it was sunny day today, I had chance to take few autum macros. This is one of these shots, taken in nature reserve area close to my home. Just a simple fern, lightned up by sun, in the border area of the forest. 😊

    • Hi Kaire – the backlit fern is only half of what makes this image, the dark background and even your watermark looks superb, glad you got out in the Autumn air with the camera, kindest regards 🙋‍♂️

      • Many thanks, Tim, and sorry for my late response. Time flies too fast and there seems to be not enough hours in my days. I hope your week has started well and that there is still beautiful weather in your area! 😊

        • Never apologise Kaire, I know exactly what you mean and most of us are the same 👍 Rain rain and more rain here, haha, today has been nice though, our rivers are now bursting the banks and flooding, I know I should have kept my mouth closed 😆🙋‍♂️

          • Yeah, be careful what you wish, I have heard they say. For some reason I wish warm winter every year, +25 degrees or even +15, and never happens. It drops under the zero and goes down, down, down. 😁

  • Tim is thinking Points!

I have added 3 more points for posting an image here.

Points are pure fun of course but I was a little stingy when it came to friends/members taking the time to share their lovely work! 🙏 👏

Points will not be backdated but creating an image or video post from now onward will have 3 more points attached than before.

A very much agree with Chris. Call me sick and twisted but I love creativity like this, coupled with good photography, cool stuff and kindest regards Michal.

  • Glen Affric. I’d spent the previous night camping beside the banks of Loch Affric and had spent the evening speaking a guy called Stan from Belgium who had also camped that at the one good spot by the loch. He had a bottle of whisky with him too, which was lucky for me! I took this shot the following afternoon as I headed eastward to my car and home…

    • A guy called Stan from Belgium, are you sure it wasn`t Yorkshire Chris, 😆 that made me chuckle, I`m not sure why! I bet it was horrible for you having to share a wee-dram, but it`s just good manners

😉A well-composed shot with great light beaming across the image. Loving the foreground trees!

I know it`s not your thing but Lizzie and I have just…Read More

      • He told me that Stan was the anglicised version of his name so I (rudely) settled with that! I set off with no drink knowing that I was going to a remote place and I could sit quietly myself with a nice coffee. Instead, there’s a guy from Belgium standing there, in the middle of nowhere, with a bottle of whisky – well it would be rude not to,…Read More

  • The weight of experience.

I’ve processed this shot of an ancient oak beside Torwood castle to death with an effect (I can’t remember the name) in Gimp. It thought that it helped enhance the movement and flow of this mysterious old tree, but maybe that’s just me 😁

    • You have but haven’t Chris in my eyes, the processing is bold but bold is not always bad. Since I first saw this image on G+ maybe? I very much liked it, light, texture, long exposure looking sky. A big thumbs up from me 👍👍👍🙋‍♂️

      • Thanks, Tim 🙂 This is an old image, but one that a lot of people liked. It seems that the non-photographers especially seem to like this version the most and I wonder if the dream smoothing (or whatever the gimp filter is called) adds the feel of the movement or something (?) I now need to get out myself and take more images. Lately I’ve always…Read More

This is a snapshot and not a good image as far as photography goes but I love how these old millstones were left stacked up at the side of where they were chiseled from millstone grit and have been there ever since the mills went out of fashion and were overtaken by technology. This quary is full of them but hard to photograph as you can…Read More

    • I have always loved millstones, and all rocks, covered with green moss. There is something magical in it how something so eternal and breathless is covered with something so soft and lively like moss. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and special view, my friend! Have a relaxing Sunday! ☺️

      • I know there is no need but I apologise for the late reply Kaire. You put the stones in words I could not but sum them up very well for me also. I am in awe of the craftsmen who chisel them from a free-standing rock, such skills. Enjoy the rest of the week and thank you 🤗

  • Silver Birch

This image was taken 2 weeks ago in the Peak District, Derbyshire, England. The low clouds were almost touching the tops of the silver birch trees, blown by a strong wind.

    • You were right Lizzie, this looks really good in black and white, I’m torn but might even like this best but both are cool in their own right ❤️👌
