Photography around Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire next week –
After having a thoroughly enjoyable morning at Flamborough (pictured) last Saturday, I am very much ready for more landscape/seascape photography regardless of weather. Yes, I lost lots of images through a menu mistake in my new camera to do with focus stacking but that is now sorted and next week I have the entire week off work dedicated to photography, I am so up-for-it!
Firmly on my list so far is Surprise View Car Park in the Peak District and Mary’s Shell near Blackpool, also long exposure images of the piers at Blackpool. I have lots more ideas but those have been on my to-photograph list for the longest.
I wonder if this is just me or do others reading this love photography but hate driving? The average journey time to a decent location be it coast or the Yorkshire Dales (to name but two) is around 1.5 to 2 hours, I know this is not a lot compared to many of my overseas friends on here but on British roads in 2019, it is enough. Of course, we all do it, often in darkness to catch the sunrise but I really wish I liked driving more than I do. A small camper van like the one Lynne Luxon-Jones has recently had converted would be superb but way out of my price range, I’m jealous Lynne, it’s lovely!!
On a positive note, last Saturday in Flamborough I was also experimenting with video using the new camera and had some good results using 120 f.p.s slow motion video. More and more I am drawn to shooting video if only to add with time-lapse footage, music and my images to better tell the story of the location and day.
As always thanks for reading my scribbles and thank you for supporting this website and my photography by purchasing my prints, images etc. There are lots more for free and any use here …
P.s. I plan to make more free Lightroom Presets soon as requested in a recent blog poll. My existing presets have been downloaded by many thousands of visitors. Good or bad, free is free! 🙂
